Why do I use the phrase “the golf of business” instead of the “business of golf”?
The traditions of fairness and etiquette that sustain the greatest game, in my humble opinion, can and should translate to the business world. The integrity, tenacity, imagination, concentration and thick skin it takes to make it around the course on the toughest of days are all desired attributes of successful character in the business arena.
First and foremost, I’m a connector. I believe we’re all in this together and we will all be more successful by pitching in and helping each other out. Today’s business environment is collaborative and entrepreneurial by nature, it’s a big blue ocean out there. Sure, there are still plenty of sharks swimming around in an isolated pool of red water, but the days of hunting the way to the top of the food chain are numbered at best.
